AV Shield is a team-based competition covering a range of track & field events thought out the summer season.
The 2025/26Shield season starts on October 6th and runs until February 2026 consisting of 12 rounds of competition held at mulitple ‘metro’ venues and ‘country’ venues each round. Athletes can compete at any venue and score points for their club.
The competing Athletics clubs are divided into 4 metro zone, Blue, Red, Yellow, White and 3 country zone, Ballarat, Bendigo, and Geelong. Casey Cardinia Athletics is in Blue Zone.
Pre-entry is via the AV Member Portal, with entries opening the week before and closing 3 days prior to competition. Entries will usually close on the Wednesday prior at 12pm. No late entries will be considered.
The Shield competition is run by volunteers and the club is required to provide helpers when competition is hosted at a Blue Zone venue. Each member will be expected to volunteer at least once for shield duty during the season. Club Duty Sign up coming soon!
